This Privacy Policy describes how Yash Chauhan ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit https://yashchauhan.dev (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

• Information you provide. For example, if you contact us by email or through a form, we receive whatever you choose to send (such as your name and email address).
• Automatically collected data. The Site records page views using a self-hosted Umami instance running on infrastructure we control. It stores the page visited, the referring site, and coarse device and country information derived from your request. It does not use cookies, it does not store your IP address, and it does not build a profile that follows you across other sites. If your browser sends a Do Not Track header, nothing is recorded at all. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
• Respond to inquiries you send us
• Understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., analytics)
• Protect the security and integrity of the Site
• Comply with legal obligations when required

Cookies and similar technologies

The Site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. Local storage is used only to remember your own preferences, such as light or dark theme, and never leaves your browser. You can clear it through your browser settings; doing so only resets those preferences.

Third-party services

Analytics are self-hosted, so your visit is not shared with a third-party analytics company. The Site is hosted on Vercel, and analytics data is stored in a Neon database; both process data on our behalf as infrastructure providers. The Site also links to third-party sites such as GitHub, LinkedIn and Medium, and those services have their own privacy policies that we do not control.

Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information (such as access, correction, deletion, or objection). To exercise those rights, contact us using the email below. We may need to verify your request before responding.

Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
